Self Erecting Cranes - Overview
Self erecting tower cranes, a new type of jib crane, fill the gap in the market between telescopic handlers
and large tower cranes. They provide a cost effective solution and improved productivity
on small to medium builds.
Self erecting tower cranes are becoming increasingly popular due to their quietness
of operation, reduction of on site vehicle movements reducing on site
accident risk and their ability to fold away to avoid over-sailing issues. Self erecting tower cranes
benefit from a small on site
footprint making them ideal for brownfield urban developments.
Self erecting tower cranes are all pedestrian operated ensuring ease of use by way of
remote control from ground level.
Operators do require specific operator training which we provide as a site specific course.
Cranes unfold in less than fifteen minutes and fold away in less than eight minutes once installed, are
low in power consumption, impossible to overload and these cranes are convenient
in using single-phase power (smaller cranes only, larger ones require three-phase
power).
